Club Activities
Lecture/Recitals
The Houston Tuesday Musical Club holds bi-weekly lecture/recitals at Emerson Unitarian Church, 1900 Bering Drive (between San Felipe and Westheimer in Houston) from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon. These programs are open to the public free of charge and feature musical performances by performing members and guest artists supplemented by educational lectures.
Chorus
The Houston Tuesday Musical Club Chorus rehearses weekly, alternating between Emerson Unitarian Church at 1900 Bering Dr. and First Presbyterian Church at 5300 Main St. across from The Museum of Fine Arts. Membership in the chorus is by audition. The requirements are: an ability to read music, carry a pitch, blend, and to be regular in attendance for performance, as well as rehearsal. The chorus sings a variety of music from classical to folk to spirituals. It performs for civic clubs, church groups, nursing homes, and schools. The ages of the members are varied, as well as the skills.... some being professional musicians and others who just love to sing fine music. The music is challenging and the group is fun and friendly. If you wish to audition for this chorus, please email us at webmaster@tuesdaymusic.org and we will put you in touch with the Choral Director.
Coffees and Luncheon
The club presents a Fall Coffee, a Christmas Coffee, and a Spring Luncheon, which are held annually for the purpose of presenting musical performances and outlining programs for the year.
